This module is an integrated photodiode and a transimpedance amplifier built into the chip, and the output voltage increases linearly with the light intensity. The amplifier is designed for single power supply or dual power supply, enabling it to be used in battery operated equipment. The integrated photodiode and transimpedance amplifier on a single chip can reduce common problems in discrete designs, such as leakage current errors, noise, and gain peaks due to stray capacitance. Moreover, the 0.09*0.09inch photodiode works in the light guide mode, which can have good linearity and very low dark current. The operating voltage of OPT101 is 2.7 to 36V, and the quiescent current is only 120uA. No infrared is required.
